[EP 190] Humid Horror feat. Yoni Wolf & Brandon Lescure!

Hola Digheads! Oh wow, it’s been a minute! Josh is back with two interviews! Up first is comedian and filmmaker, Brandon Lescure! He stops by to talk about his new short horror film, The Back Page! You can see it on July 19th FOR FREE at Magoobys!

The second interview is with Yoni Wolf of Why?, Yoni & Geti, and his own podcast, The Wandering Wolf. Josh and Yoni talk in a Hyundai Sonata in a Baltimore parking lot about his new record, the recording process, and what happens when you want more from your career. Fascinating talk, especially for artists.

[EP 173] Onions From the Moon feat. 83 Cutlass!

Hola DigHeads!! On today’s episode we have the very talented rapper, 83 Cutlass!

Josh and Mike once flipped burgers with this young man whom they knew as Chad. Chad tells the boys all about his career in the world of local hip-hop including his recent collaborations with Baltimore musicians Dan Deacon and Sam Herring from Future Islands (Sam raps as well!). He also explains just why his honest form of lyrical content gets so dang dark and gritty at times. And the 3 recount their former lives as part of a local Bmore eatery with arguably cult-like ties!

[EP 167] No Shade feat. DDM aka Unkle Lulu of Bond St. District!

Hola DigHeads! On this week’s Digression Sessions Josh and Mike are joined by Baltimore rapper, DDM! DDM is one of the area’s most beloved hip hop artists, who worked his way through the ranks of competitive street battles to become a staple performer of the rap scene on both a local and national level.

DDM does not hold back or mince words as he schools the boys on the perfectionism and discipline it takes to make a solid act in the competitive world of MCing. He tells us what he hates and what he loves with very little in between and articulates the backlash he has had to endure among people he considered his own. And he handles all of that while avoiding being pigeon holed as only a “gay rapper.”
